History

One of a row of three villas of c1900 (possibly 1897) built to designs by E Glover Thomas of Tenby. No 1 was owned by the architect. They were originally enclosed by front garden walls with ornate iron gates and rails, by W Baker of Newport, mostly removed except gate to Frogmore Villa (No 1) and rails between forecourts.

Exterior

Terraced house in row of 3, mirrored pair with No 2, painted stucco with slate roof, terracotta ridge tiles and red brick left end stack. Two storeys and attic, two-window range with full height large canted bay window to left with sashes, single sash to first floor right over door. All sashes have small panes to top sash only. Bay has moulded cornices and eaves have fretwork valance. Four-panel door with overlight in ornate timber porch paired with porch of No 2. Porch has slate gabled roof carried on row of turned posts on low rendered walls, the posts with rings and capitals, paired posts to front. Blocks over posts shaped to form keyhole motif, and porch head shaped to a 3-lobe pattern under overhanging fretwork bargeboards with apex finial and pendant. No 3 has quoins to left and added large gabled dormer on eaves above bay, with paired plate glass narrow sashes
