History

Probably C19; probably contemporary with Sycamore Cottage.

Exterior

A brick-built single-seat earth closet, complete with pit on the downhill side to the rear. Boarded door. Slate roof with tile ridge.

Interior

Whitewashed walls; lacks only the seat.

Reasons for Listing

An almost intact example of an earth closet, belonging to a smallholder's farmhouse; listed also for group value with Sycamore Cottage.
