History

Milestone on turnpike road from Llangurig to Aberystwyth via Devil's Bridge, for which trust was established in 1770. Probably mid C19, different from the others in area in being of slate and having a bold mid C19 lettering. The new turnpike road on the A44 was opened in 1812.

Exterior

Milestone, whitewashed slate, with curved top and inscription 'Aberystwyth 15 miles', the town name in capitals following curve, numerals below and Miles in lower case.
