Early/mid C19 simple classical house shown on the 1835 town map.
Double-fronted house with painted render and roughcast probably over brick, Welsh slate roof with red brick stacks. Double depth central entry plan. Three storeys, two windows. Ground floor has 4-panel door with transom light flanked by 6 over 6 pane sashes. Plat band. First floor has 8 over 8 pane sashes, second floor has 4 over 8. All windows have stone cills. Hipped low pitch roof with tall stack on either side wall. Roughcast gable wall survives against S end wall overlooking the forecourt to RC Church of St Mary. Rear elevation not seen.
Interior not seen at resurvey.
Included for its special architectural interest as a house of definite late Georgian character in the Monmouth town centre.
