  • St Peter: Perpendicular church of late c15 & early c16; mainly work of Robert Throckmorton d.1518; nave arcades with lozenge shaped piers & hollowed chamfered arches

  • St Peter: chancel arch & two-bay chapel arcades of simpler style and slightly later than in nave

  • St Peter: five light east window, c.1530; three Sibyls (heads restored); earlier heraldic fragments include arms of Spiney, Tudor Rose, Royal Arms, arms of Castile & Aragon & a pomegranate

  • St Peter: tomb chest for Robert Throckmorton 1468-1518, rebuilder of church, died in the Holy Land; appropriated by a later Sir Robert in 1791; cusped quatrefoils with shields

  • St Peter: Purbeck marble tomb chest (9 ft long) with two quatrefoils & shields of George Throckmorton, d.1552/3 & wife Katherine Vaux; quartered arms of Throckmorton; opposed the Reformation & Boleyn marriage, sympathised with Pilgrimage of Grace

  • St Peter: George Throckmorton, d.1552/3, eng. c.1535 & wife Katherine, children & shields below
