Master of Court of Requests under Queen Mary;
'Here liethe interred ye bodie of Sir John Throckmorton, Knight of Feckenham, the fiveth sonne of Sir George Throckmorton, Knight of Coughton somtime master of ye requests unto Queene Marie of happie memorie, who in respecte of this faithfull service bestowerd unto him ye office of Justice of Chester and her counseile in ye marches of Wales, in which rome he continued xxiij years and supplied ye same time ye place of vice-president ye space of iij years'.

His son Francis was the Throckmorton plotter in league with Mary Queen of Scots, Mendoza & Catholic malcontents on continent.
