Milepost. Probably mid-to-late C19. Cast iron with black painted
base and raised lettering. Triangular in section with chamfered top,
sloping to front. Lettered "MADELEY" on top; "BETLEY 2/BASFORD 5/
NANTWICH 9½" on left; "KEELE 3/NEWCASTLE 6" on right.
