Post. c1860. c3½ foot high. Metal four legged plinth with chamfered pier above.Moulded capital band with pyramidal top. City of London Corporation shield cast on the front with lettering on the pier reading "24 & 25/VICT CAP 42". Also on the bottom of the pier is an oval cast with lettering reading: "REGENT CANAL IRONWORKS LONDON. HENRY CRISSER 1861". A coal and wine tax post indicating the boundary at which duty was payable; that on coal dating back to the 1660's.
