5/101 War Memorial

G.V. II

War memorial. c.1918. Portland stone with copper decorations.
3 oval steps each step with bolection type moulding to lower
edges. Surmounted by a plinth, moulded to either side with
inscription plaque with moulded head to front. Over is the
rectangular inscribed base which supports a single column with
decorative capital. A single copper gilt sword decorates the
front and the capital is surmounted by a single copper gilt
cross.
