House and attached forge. Early C18 origins, mainly mid C18 and C19. House is
limestone ashlar and forge is squared coursed limestone and brick, both with
slate roofs. House originally 2-unit plan. 2 storeys with attic. 2-window range
of Cl9 and C20 casements, in original openings, under gauged stone heads.
Central C20 door is under similar head. Chamfered plinth and raised string
course between floors. Pair of gabled eaves dormers. Ashlar gable parapets and
kneelers and ashlar stacks at ends. Plaque with moulded cornice between first
floor windows. 2-window range attached to left,remodelled C19, was formerly the
forge. C19 and C20 casement windows under wood lintels and large plank door,
under wood lintel to right. Brick stacks at ridge and end. Left gable has
evidence of early C18 roof pitch. Outbuildings attached to rear are part brick.
