School and house. 1859, with later C19 projecting east wing to
right, in Jacobean Revival style. Brick with steep pitched slate
roofs and ashlar dressings; gabled roof ventilators and moulded
coped gables with crosses; 2 rear wall stacks. Single storey,
L-plan. All windows are mullioned and transomed casements in
chamfered reveals. Main west wing has off-centre projecting bay
with 4 light window and datestone inscribed 'Rectory Infant
School A D 1859'. Above, ogee curved shaped gable with finial
and central ventilator. Flanked by single 3 light windows.
Beyond, to left, single window with C20 door inserted. Beyond,
to right, doorway with chamfered lintel, and beyond again, gable
of east wing, containing stepped-head 18 light window flanked by
single windows, and above, central ventilator. West front has,
to left, a 3 light window and to its right, 8 light stepped head
window. To right again, east wing has central external stack
flanked by single windows and to right, C20 door. House, 2
storeys, 2 bays. L-plan, has 2 gable and single rear and side
wall stacks. Main south front has, to right, projecting gabled
wing. 2 three light windows and above, 2 two light windows.
Above again, to right, a trefoil opening. In return angle, a
Tudor arched door and above, a single window.
