Gilbert Charlton AM (Master of Arts) Rector of this parish died 14 Mar 1738 age 36. Elizabeth his wife, daughter of Anthony Burton of Surfleet in Lincolnshire Esq. died 23 Jun 1758 age 63. They had issue two sons Gilbert and Harvey who died in their infancy and two daughters Lettice who died 13 Sept 1751 age 17 and Elizabeth who died 30 Oct 1753 age 18. Shield of arms- Quarterly 1 and 4 Or a lion rampant gules (Charlton) 2 Gules ten bezants 4 3 2 and 1 or (Zouch) 3 Argent two chevrons sable (Staunton. In pretence Argent a bend wavy sable (Burton). Creast An esquires helmet. A leopards face gules. (Photo Feb 2014).
