Farmhouse. C17, possibly with earlier core, and with C19 alterations. Timber
framed. Ground floor red brick in stretcher bond to left, painted brick to
right. First floor rendered to left, close-studded under stack and to right.
Plain tile roof. Lobby-entry plan of approximately 2 timber-framed bays and
central stack bay. Left bay longer than right bay. Parallel rear range to
left, extending to left of gable end of main range and possibly of pre-C17
origin. 2 storeys and attic. Gabled. Eaves of left gable jettied on moulded
bressumer and shaped brackets. Right gable has projecting wall-plate ends
carrying verges with plain bargeboards. Multiple red and grey brick ridge
stack slightly to right of centre. 2 large close-studded, gabled eaves dormers,
each with bargeboards and pendant and jettied on a moulded bressumer, flanking
stack bay. Left dormer stops short of left gable end and has shaped brackets and
plastered coving under jetty. Single casement to centre of blocked 3-light
mullion window to each dormer. Irregular fenestration of 3 windows; one 3-light
C19 casement with top lights to left timber framed bay and one 2-light paned
casement to stack bay. Close-studded 2-storey canted bay to right timber-framed
bay, with head under jettied dormer, with 8-light mullioned and transomed window
to each floor, and with side-lights to first floor. Panelled double doors under
stack, within red and grey brick porch with hipped roof. Rear lean-to. Rear
range: ground floor red and grey brick on stone plinth, first floor tile-hung.
2 storeys. Gabled to left, with end stack. One 3-light casement to each floor,
that to ground floor with segmental head. Boarded door to right end. Interior
not inspected.
