GV II
House. Early C19 with minor later additions and alterations. Uncoursed limestone
rubble; slate roof with integral end stacks. 2 storeys. 3-window front, glazing
bar sashes in plain stone surrounds. Central entrance; 6-panel door with
semi-circular fanlight under C20 Tuscan porch. Two-storey lean-to to rear on
right. Interior. Central hall has dog-leg staircase with stick balusters and
turned newels. Plain pilastered stone surround to fireplace in left ground-floor
room and wooden imitation of same to right room. Stone-flag floors. C20
two-storey flat-roofed addition in angle to rear is not of special architectural
interest. Included for group value.
