Pair of houses, now house and disused shop. C17, refaced, eaves raised
to left, and extended to front at right in early- to mid-C19. Timber
framed and coursed limestone rubble faced with stucco (lined as ashlar);
slate roofs, in 2 ranges to right with that at rear steeper and higher
(qv No. 2, Welsh Street). 2 storeys. Plinth, and deep eaves; brick
stack to right on ridge to rear, integral brick end stack to left,
and brick stack behind ridge off-centre to left. Framing: square
panels (concealed). 3-window front; glazing bar sashes with flush
frames; 4 flush-panelled door (top panels glazed) with bracketed
hood between first and second windows from left, and early- to mid-
Cl9 shop front to right with 6-part shop window extending around
corner to right, half-glazed door to left (with 2 flush Lower panels),
pilastered surround and bracketed hood. Interior: dividing wall
between Nos. 4 and 6 with exposed square-panelled timber frame.
Nos. 4 and 6 are faced as a pair and are partially interlocked to
right with the construction of No. 2 (qv).
