Pair of houses. Mid-to late C18. Painted brick, left-hand end wall
rendered. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys and attic. Painted plinth,
plat band and parapeted gable ends. Central brick ridge stack and
integral brick end stacks. Pair of gabled dormers to right with 2-
light wooden casements and plain barge boards. Right-hand house:
2 windows; wooden cross windows with tiled cills, those on ground floor
with segmental heads. 4 stone steps up to roughly central 6-panelled
door with segmental head. Gabled lattic wooden porch. Cast-iron
bootscraper to left. Left-hand house: 2 bays; first-floor 20-pane
glazing bar sashes, and ground-floor segmental-headed 3-light wooden
casement to left. Door to right with 6 raised and fielded panels and
4-part rectangular overlight with segmental head. Flight of 4 dressed
red/grey sandstone steps at right angles to door with wrought-iron
balustrade consisting of plain railings, twisted standards and plain
rail with curtail. Interiors of houses not inspected.
