Cottage. Early C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed
with painted brick infill; reed thatch roof. One storey and gable-
lit attic; apparently of 3 framed bays. Framing: square panels, 2 from
cill to wall-plate with painted decoration to infill to front; larger
square panels with long curving tension braces to right gable end and
back wall; left gable end partly rebuilt in brick and painted black
and white in imitation of timber frame; projecting single-purlin ends
with V-struts from collar to right gable end. Mid-C19 casements, one
to left and 2 to right of C19 boarded door to left of centre. Central
C20 brick ridge stack and internal end stack to left also partly rebuilt
in C20 red brick. Interior: inspection not possible at time of resurvey
(January 1986) but likely to be of interest. Also known as Edenhurst.
