ST41SW MERRIOTT CP HIGHER STREET (South-east side)

2/124 No 16, and Winyards View

GV II

Formerly one house at end of row, no divided. C18. Ham stone ashlar; thatched roof with coped south gable, continuation
to north; brick end and intermediate chimney stacks. Two storeys, 4 bays. Plain beaded mullioned windows, with unworked
top mitres and shallow architraves, all 2-light to the 3 bays of No 16, and 3-light to Winyards View. Openings to
ground floor bay 1 has been replaced by a deeper C20 window, a 2-light reconstructed stone surround. Between bays 1 and
2 a later C19 door set in timber and thatched open porch. South gable adapted with C20 glazed door with timber hood and
single-light steel casement nearby. Towards rear at mezzanine level a tall transomed 2-light beaded aullioned window in
shallow architrave. C20 extension to rear. Interior not seen.
