School, now dwelling. Dated 1856. Light red brick with yellow sandstone dressings, steeply pitched slate roof with
overhanging eaves, decorated bargeboards on gabled return elevations, rendered stack to right, gabled bell-cote without
bell to left. 2-storeys, three bays; 2-light mullioned window with plate glass. Central depressed arch doorway, C19
plank door with studs. Left return gable (fronting road) has tablet with crest inscribed "E.P. 1856". Edward Prior of
Halse Manor paid for the school. Left return elevation linked to School Cottage (q.v.) by ogee - headed opening in red
sandstone coursed rubble wall, less than a metre in length on either side of ogee - headed plank door with studs.
