GV II

Shop row and dwelling. C16 and earlier, with C18 and later alterations and
additions. Timber framed. Ground floor painted brick, first floor tile-hung.
Exposed studding with rendered infilling to long left side of wing. 2
timber-framed bays, with cross-wing to left of approximately 3 timber-framed
bays projecting to front and rear. Front bay of wing probably built as shop.
Separately framed, and possibly older section to right of stack. 2 storeys.
Evidence for continuous jetty to 2 left timber-framed bays of main range.
Hipped roof to wing with ridge lower than main range. Roof of main range
in 2 sections, that to right of stack higher. Ridge stack to left end of
right section, towards centre of main range. 2 truncated stacks to left
side of wing. Irregular fenestration of five 3-light casements; one to wing,
one to left section of main range and 3, set lower, to right section. C20
ground floor shop fronts. Half-glazed doors; to Mortley to left end of
main range and to Village Shop towards right end. Interior: only partly
inspected. Exposed framing to Mortley with moulded beam over probable shop
front of wing. Combed plaster panel to first floor of wing.
