Barn and outbuildings at and c20m NW of No.33 (Old House) Main Street.

Barn,now garages and stable , and outbuildings. Barn probably late C17 and
outbuildings mid C19. Barn of red brick with granite rubble stone plinth and
Swithland slate roof with brick truncated rear stack. Outbuildings of red
brick and Welsh slate roof with brick ridge stack. Gables facing, front to
left with barn on right bordering Albert Street. Barn of tall single storey
with, from left, stable door with overlight, 6-pane window, and 2 pairs of
double doors under probably C19 brick segmental arches. 2 loopholes over.
6 loopholes on right end, and buttress, loopholes, and blocked central double
door to rear. 3 bay triple purlin tie-beam roof with collars and wind braces
to upper purlin. Projecting from left end a 2 storey outbuilding with loft
door and 2-light horizontal sliding sash over 6/6 sash, door with overlight,
8/8 sash and door with overlight. Cambered lintels to ground floor. On
left end a further 1 storey outbuilding. The barn may have been one of the
original outbuildings of No.33 (Old House), Main Street (q.v.) which is dated
1678.
