KIBWORTH HARCOURT
ALBERT STREET (North Side)
No. 12
II
Cottage. C18, extended probably early C19. Whitewashed brick and
corrugated tile roof with brick end stacks to both ranges. Rubble stone
plinth in part. C18 range to right of 2 storeys of 2-light casements over 2
centre-opening 3-lights. Central 6-panelled door with glazed top panels.
Left range, slightly higher, of a centre-opening 3-light casement over 2
2-lights. These last and the left 3-light in right range have cambered
lintels. The unusual feature of the interior is that of probably original
unplastered but whitewashed walls in some ground floor rooms. There are also
chamfered beams, inglenook fireplace with re-used beam, a wattle and daub
partition and a horizontal sliding sash window with leaded light.
