3/112 Pump and Milestone

Milestone and water pump; Early C19; Ashlar; An inscribed obelisk on
a splayed base with a rectangular trough with splayed corners set in
front. Behind is a well and iron pull handle. Trough and base are
panelled and from front panel of base, which is raised in a semicircle,
protrudes a copper spout. Inscription in Roman capitals reads,
'From Lincoln 18 miles, From Grantham 7 miles, From London 117 miles.'
