Parish Church of St James

A Grade I Listed Building in Louth, Lincolnshire

The Sunburst.

Uploader's Comments

The ceiling of the tower is 86 ft above the floor. The Sunburst, emblem of Edward IV, during whose reign the tower was constructed, conceals the circular trap door in the ringing chamber, lifted to allow the hanging of the bells.
