Pair of houses. c1870-80. Multi-coloured stock brick; slate roof. Institutional
character. 3-storey 5-window wide centre block with 2-storey 2-window wings;
3-window return to Allitsen Road. Plain recessed segmental arched doorways
flank centre. Recessed glazing bar sashes under segmental gauged red brick
arches; aprons to sills. Sill and impost bands. Deep flat eaves to hipped
roof; central chimney stack. Drinking fountain inset to boundary wall of No 52.
