1732 (East Side)

TQ 5946 SW 2/4
No 73
8.5.50.

2.
Small timber-framed building. The front facing High Street has a C19 shop
front and above is faced with weather-boarding. The side facing Botany has
been rebuilt in brick on the ground floor and is hung with painted tiles above
this, but in between some traces of a bressummer are visible with a slight
bell-cast of tiles over this. 2 storeys and attic. 1 window. Steeply
pitched half-hipped tiled roof with attic window in the hipped gable. Sash
windows on first floor, glazing bars intact. Pleasant C19 shop window in
3 detachable sections retaining glazing bars, but with continuous hood over
supported on brackets, which somewhat detracts from the pleasant effect of
the remainder. On the side facing Botany horizontally-sliding sash windows
on ground floor.
