Barn and stables, probably C18th and c.1800, Sandstone rubble with slate
roof. Main barn abuts rear wing of Brookhouse Old Hall (q.v.) at its northern
end. Towards the south of a stable wing projects eastwards, with a gabled
east wall. The west wall of the main barn has a wide entrance with plain
reveals and segmental arch. To its left are later additions. To its right is
the wider shippon end. The east wall of the barn has a similar wide entrance.
The gable of the projecting wing has openings with plain stone surrounds. On
the ground floor are 2 windows with a doorway between them. Above are 3
circular pitching holes, the outer ones smaller and blocked. Under the apex
is a lunette filled with pigeon holes. The gable has a coping with kneelers.
