War memorial. Circa 1920 incorporating cross base which is probably C15.
Limestone, with cross base of sandstone. Cross base of square plan,
chamfered to an octagon with a projecting roll moulding. It rests on 4
steps of octagonal plan. Shaft octagonal and tapering. Cross head is
gabled and carved with crucifixion scene. Around the 2nd step is
inscribed: ' This cross has been set up on the ancient base by the
Halsall parishioners in memory of their kinsmen who fell for King and
Country 1914-1919. Their names are inscribed below.'
