(Photo Feb 2016). The obelisk finials are repeated on the nave and chancel gables, and to me represent a celebration of tied cornsheaves. A tied cornsheaf finial is more usually found inside Leicestershire churches in the form of a poppy head bench end. (Photo Feb 2016).
