House. C17, raised, renovated and extended in C20. Cruck-framed, encased
in squared sandstone to front, coursed sandstone rubble to sides and rear;
thatched roof; brick stacks. Originally 3-cell, hearth-passage plan, with
rear service wing added. 1½ storeys. Centre left C20 board door beneath
bracketed thatched porch. Single 3-light, small-pane horizontal sliding
sash to left, and 2 to right. First-floor windows are eyebrow dormers with
similar windows. Renewed timber lintels to all ground-floor windows.
Stepped eaves course. End and left of centre stacks, the end left piercing
roof pitch. Interior: 3 pairs of jointed full crucks survive, one pair
with collar fully exposed in the ground-floor room to right and on the floor
above. Parts of one blade only of the other 2 pairs are visible in the rear
corners of both ground floor rooms. In the ground-floor room to the right
is a butterfly-hinged spice cupboard door finely carved with a lozenge in
the centre and a border of rosettes enclosed in guilloche pattern.
