Row of four Georgian houses and shops. Late C18. Brick with plain tiled roofs. Nos. 16 and 18 have former C19 shop fronts with panelled doors with overlights alongside wide many paned windows in moulded wood architraves. Other windows are sashes with cambered brick heads. Most have wood, imitation stone, lintels with keystones. Deep wood moulded eaves cornice. Although the properties form a terraced row they are not of uniform build, and the floor levels throughout do not correspond. The shields are blazoned (1). Per pale azure and gules, three lions rampant argent 2 and 1, a crescent for difference. Descended from second son of Earl of Pambroke (Herbert). (2). Argent a bend engrailed sable, a crescent for difference. 2nd son of Earl of Sussex (Radcliffe). (Photo May 2008).
