Muthesius, 'Das Englische Haus', II, p 163. Red brick with stone dressings;
tile roof. Two storeys plus attic 3 bays. First a bay window with tiled roof
with a 2 light window and a broad chimney stack above, then a 4 light and a
5 light window and doorway with two 4 light windows and one small window above
and, in the roof, 3 dormer windows, 2 of them with hipped tiled roofs and one
of them with a pediment and, finally, an advanced and gabled bay with two
4 light windows and a small window in the gable. The entrance to No 2
Cartland Road on the left hand return, where there is a broad gabled bay with
door under a tiled canopy and one 3 light window, one 4 light window on the
first floor and one 3 light window in the gable. All the windows except the
dormer casements with mullions and leaded lights. Also illustrated in 'The
Builder' 1896.
