Late C18. Built probably for Thomas Green (1731-1803), iron master; added
to, 1902-3, by A S Dixon with plasterwork and leadwork by George Bankart and
metalwork by the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft; acquired for the diocese
of Birmingham in 1921. Brick. Three storeys; 3 bays. Ground floor with central
door within Adamish doorcase and 2 recesses sash windows plus 2 modern vertical
oval windows. First and second floors each with 3 sash windows, those of
the second floor square. Dentilled eaves cornice and blocking course. Left
and right of this, 2 storeyed 3-bay wings connecting with pedimented 2-storeyed
outer wings.
