HEARE LYETH THE BODIE OF NICOLAS BRETON ESQ. SONNE OF CAPTAINE JOHN BRETON OF TAMWORTH ESQ. IN THE COUNTIE OF STAFFORD. HE ALSO WAS CAPTAINE OF A FOOT COMPANY IN THE LOW COUNTRIES UNDER THE COMAUND OF YE RIGHT HONBLE ROBERT DUDLEY EARL OF LEICESTER.

HE MARRIED ANNE DAUGHTER TO SR EDWARD LEGH OF RUSHHAL IN YE COUNTY OF STAFFORD. A WIFE OF RARE VERTUE & PIETIE. HE HAD BY HER 5 SONNS & 4 DAUGHTERS VIZ. EDWARD, CHRISTOPHER, JOHN, GERARD, WILLIAM ANNE, HOWARD, FRANCES, LETTIE. HE PURCHASED THIS LORDSHIP OF NORTON, & DEPARTED FROM THE TROUBLES OF THIS LIFE, TO ETERNAL HAPPINESS THE 22 DAY OF JUNE ANO DOMINI 1624
