Here ly the bodyes of THOMAS SPENCER Esquire and DOROTHY his wife, daughter of Sr WILLIAM SPENCER, Knight who had issue between them 5 sonnes and 7 daughters viz THOMAS, ANTHONY, WILLIAM, JOHN and GEORGE, URSULA, URSULA, DOROTHY, SUSANNA, MARY, ELIZABETH and KATHERINE where of 7 dyed infants unmarried and 5 were maryed viz WILLIAM to ELIZABETH MILNEY and DOROTHY first to GEORGE COPE Esquier and after to GABRIELL PULTENEY, Esquier, Susana to JOHN TEMPLE, Esquier, MARY to RICHARD WALLOPP, Esquier and KATHERINE to THOMAS BROWNE, Esquier and the said THOMAS SPENCER dyed the XVllth daye of August 1576 and the said DORITHIE dyed the XIIIth day of Septemb ano dni 1575. MD: That the said WILLIAM SPENCER beinge dead without issue the saide SUSANNA TEMPLE, one of ye 4 daughters & coheires of ye saide THOMAS SPENCER at her only charge caused this monument to be sett up ye day of 1606.

Arms of Spencer are 'quarterly argent and gules, the gules fretty or, a bend sable with three scallops argent thereon'
