Former house, now library and flat. C17, and greatly altered in the C19.
Built of red brick, colourwashed render with black pantile and slate roof.
'U'-shaped plan, of 2 storeys and attics, forming an open courtyard to the
east. Facade to Market Place rendered of 4 windows, extended with one blank
bay to the south. Central porch with angle buttresses, battlemented parapet
and Gothick windows with hood moulds. Windows C19 sashes with glazing bars
and hood moulds. Paired shaped eaves brackets 3 gabled dormers. End stack
to north and off centre axial stack to south. At rear, red brick wings with
gabled pantile and slate roofs. C19 sash windows with glazing bars and gauged
brick arches. Southern wing has storey height windows at ground floor level.
