12/18 Plomer monument
in churchyard
5 metres south-west of chancel

GV II

Monument of 1728 to William Plomer. Carved and moulded
limestone. On a moulded square base a tall square pedestal with
projecting moulded capstone. Each face a raised and fielded
panel inscribed. On top a tall tapering panelled obilisk on
arched and scrolled feet, topped by a moulded cornice and fluted
urn. Shown in C18 and C19 topograhical drawings of church from
SE. (Pevsner (1977) 150).
