Terrace, terrace walls and steps. 1806-9. By William Wilkins
for the Honourable East India Company as part of the main South
Front of East India College. Yellow brick and stone. A broad
raised terrace along the south front with 2 projecting square
bastions in line with the open porticos, each approached by 2
flights of stone steps along the wallface with outer parapet
walls. Simple heavy stone copings to all walls. An essential
part of the neo-classical architectural design.
