Cottage. Early C17 with mid-C19 alterations and additions. Timber-framed,
rendered and painted brick infill, brick replacement walling and refacing,
sandstone rubble plinth, plain tiled roof, external sandstone chimneys with
brick stacks at both gable ends, right side chimney has star-shaped shaft.
Two framed bays; single storey and attic with gabled dormer; dentilled eaves
cornice at rear. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, short
straight braces in upper corners, no trusses visible. Front elevation:
two 3-light and one 2-light ground floor casements with plank weatherings,
gabled dormer with 2-light casement and entrance in left bay with gabled
glazed timber porch on a brick base and a ledged and battened door.
Interior not inspected. Right gable end has been extended in brick to
encase the external stack. Included for group value.
