HANBURY CP SCHOOL ROAD (south side) SO 96 SE 4/140 Stable about 5 yards north-west of Old Bell Farmhouse

Stable, now store. C17 with late C19 alterations. Timber-framed, brick infill, plinth and additions; plain tiled roof. Two framed bays; two levels. Framing: some replacement timbers; three panels from sill to wall-plate, long straight lower braces, collar and tie-beam trusses, with two struts at east gable end, and inserted loft door replacing collar at west gable end. South elevation has a lean-to addition with two doors and a shuttered window. Interior: roof has single tier of trenched purlins and an intermediate collar and tie-beam truss. The building is situated close to Old Bell Farmhouse (qv).
