Barn. C17, with late C20 alterations. Timber-framed with lath infill
on rubble base, partly weatherboarded with corrugated metal roof. Three
framed bays aligned north/south; central wagon bay with opposed cart entries,
double doors to the west and a C20 metal door to the east. East elevation
has two blocked raking top dormers, one in each outer bay and a large opening
in the north bay. Interior: wall-framing has three rows of panels from sill
to wall-plate and long straight braces across the lower corners. Roof has
collar and tie-beam trusses at each end with three struts beneath the collar
and a V-strut above the collar; there are two intermediate tie-beam trusses
with raking-struts and two tiers of trenched purlins. The barn is situated
adjacent to Pentre-Coed (qv). Included for group value.
