GV II
Cider mill, now store. Probably early C18 with mid-C19 alterations.
Part timber-framed with brick infill and some weatherboarding on rubble
base, part rubble with corrugated asbestos roof. Three bays aligned east/
west. Two levels. Framing: three panels from sill to wall-plate, long
straight braces across upper corners, collar and tie-beam truss at west end
with central strut and small raking struts across lower corners. Main south
elevation: there is a shuttered ground floor window, two loft openings, a
door and a stable door. A continuous lean-to rubble outshut with a catslide
roof adjoins the north elevation with two ventilation slits in its north
wall. Interior: mill and press have been removed. The cider mill is situated
adjacent to Great Parton Farmhouse (qv) and screens it from the main road.
