Barn, now house. Circa 1500, converted late C20. Timber framed and weather boarded with plain tiled roof. Now of 2 storeys on sandstone base, with
hipped roof. Four irregular wooden casements on each floor, with central
full height glazed entry bay with boarded door. Outshots to right and to
rear. Interior:the barn was of 6 bays, the southernmost bay originally
floored over to form a loft, partitioned from the rest of the building,
with mortices for a mullioned window. Unmoulded crownpost roof with
irregular bracing. Walls of large panel framing. Interior now fitted out
for domestic use. (See E.Mercer,English Vernacular Houses, 1975, 174).
