PARISH OF CHATSWORTH CHATSWORTH GARDENS SK 2670 6/67 Group of 18 columns enclosing Rose Garden GV II Group of eighteen columns within and defining the enclosure of the Rose Garden in front of the First Duke's Greenhouse. Late C17 re-erected in present position in 1812. Sandstone ashlar. Tuscan Doric columns. Four in centre supporting statues, four at the south entrance supporting busts. Ten more with ball finials surround the Rose Garden. Two further statues on moulded pedestal bases. The columns and the busts are late C17 and were originally in the open courtyard of the house. The Gardens and Park are included on the Gardens Register at Grade I.
