Antique sarcophagus forming part of the Sixth Duke of
Devonshire's collection of antique sculpture. Brought to
Chatsworth in the early C19 and probably originally placed in
the Sculpture Gallery. Marble sarcophagus with sides carved in
deep relief with swags. Gabled top with antefixae at the
corners. The Gardens and Park are included on the Gardens
Register at Grade I.
