13/10 Dovecote to north of The Rectory
and Rectory Lodge

GV II

Dovecote. Late C16. Dressed and squared limestone; stone slate
roof. Tall square building with gable on each side, gables
slightly smaller to east and west. South and west gables contain
later oval openings, possibly taken from The Rectory (q.v.) during
the 1858 alterations. Small square pigeon hole with perch on north
side with high level doorway having timber lintel and plank door.
Fixed light with stone lintel on west side. A dovecote was
recorded in this position in 1597.
