GV II
Pair of estate-type cottages. Mid to late C18. Limestone rubble walls, with brick
dressing to windows. Gable ended asbestos slate roof. Central rendered axial
stack.
Pair of identical cottages. Each has entrance lobby with stairs and small unheated
service room behind and, principal heated room adjoins lobby occupying full depth of
cottage. C19/C20 rear additions.
2 storeys. Symmetrical 2 window front, 1 window to each cottage on ground and first
floor; Model Cottage to left, The Quest to right. The original windows are 3-light
metal frame casements with diamond "leaded" lights, hoodmould above. First floor
windows are similar gabled dormers. Probably C20 plank doors with cover strips.
Rustic gabled porches.
Interior not inspected.
