House immediately south of the Palms

House. C18 or earlier. Whitewashed plastered cob and stone rubble ; thatched roof,
hipped at left end, gabled at right end ; right end stack and axial stack.
Plan: Details unclear at time of survey as interior not inspected : a single depth
range, the left-hand end a converted barn, the remainder of the range with 2
rooflines indicating either 2 cottages in origin or a larger earlier house with one
end remodelled.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 5 window front, the principal front door to right
of centre with a C20 gabled porch, 2 additional doors to right of centre and a
further door at the extreme left into the former barn. C19 and C20 first floor 2-
light timber casements with glazing bars, 3 C20 ground floor window, one to the
former barn very large. The rear elevation, to the road has 4 first floor windows
and 4 ground floor, all C20 timber windows.
