6/72 Stables approximately
100 metres south of
Madresfield Court
Stables. Circa 1800 with later C19 additions. Brick with tile roofs.
Built around three sides of a courtyard, open on west side. Two storeys.
North and east walls, facing outwards, have Gothick openings and a storey
band. Windows have pointed heads, leaded glazing, and a central timber
mullion which branches to form Y-tracery. North wall has four windows on
ground floor, five on first floor, and two pointed doorways at left with
studded doors. The east wall has seven windows on the ground floor, with
a pointed doorway to each side of the central window. The first floor has
a flat-headed window within each of the two outer gables. The wing on the
south side of courtyard appears to be a later C19 addition.
