NY 52 SE GREAT STRICKLAND GREAT STRICKLAND

Farmhouse and barn. Mid C18. Limestone rubble walls with flush red sandstone
quoins. Graduated greenslate roof, hipped at right, with stone chimney stacks.
2 storeys, 2 bays with rear right-angled 2-bay barn under common roof. Central
gabled stone porch with plank door. 2-light flat stone-mullioned windows,
except for similar 3-light window left of entrance and blocked smaller window
over entrance, all with red sandstone surrounds. Right return wall has sash
windows in C19 painted stone surrounds. Left return wall is the front of the
barn with flat-headed doorways and openings under loft doorways, all in stone
surrounds. Mentioned in RCHM, 1936, p.220, but no further details given.
